My Story
Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Daniel, I was born and raised in rural Ontario and I work as a hairstylist at a local salon here in Sarnia. I started hair school in the fall of 2019 and was in school when Covid 19 hit Ontario. I did a lot of my schooling online and graduated in October of 2020. It took me a while to get to where I am today, but with the help of an amazing mentor here I am and I'm loving what I do.
I was looking for a side hustle and this seemed like the perfect choice. I've always had a fascination with jewelry and it was always one of the first things I noticed about an outfit. It wasn't till my teen years that I started experimenting with making jewelry with just simple chains. I vividly remember scrounging up some random change to buy metal binder clips from Dollarama to clip onto my clothes just to add a little something to an outfit to make it edgier.
Not long after, I learned how to make my own jewelry and it became a huge hobby of mine. I always loved making things for myself, I would make something, wear it to death, get sick of it, and then rip it apart and make something better.
It wasn't till I was in school that I discovered bohemian statement jewelry and it changed my whole aesthetic. I changed a lot of my style and the decor and aesthetic of my room. I was never interested in big jewelry before this, but after I thrifted my first statement piece I fell in love.
I started finding all these amazing things at Goodwill, taking them apart, and making them my own. I later started making pieces for other people and became the go-to guy for jewelry repairs. Just recently, for a Halloween costume, I made a friend of mine the pearl statement piece worn by Madona in her Like a Virgin music video. Earlier this year people started asking if a sold jewelry and I had never really thought about it, but hey why not. And that brings us to now, on this website you will find a collection of handmade jewelry as well as unique thrifted pieces and some unique bohemian pottery and other home decor.
Thrifting has always been something I've enjoyed, so I thought I would incorporate that into the website as well. Because honestly, when I find a really cool piece I have a hard time leaving it on the shelf, but sadly I'm out of places to keep them, so I'm going to give you the chance to add them to your very own collection.
